At the top of Emei shan
It was one of the regular foggy days at Emei Shan in Sichuan with 150m visibility. Rice harvesting was at its peak. The farmers were burning the straw. It gave Mordor-like environment: thick smoke cover 30m above the ground with "smoke pillars" from the fields all the way from Chengdu , a 150km drive.
It was the 4th time to visit to this place for my friend with us. The mountain top was always in clouds during his previous visits. He could hardly see the elephants.
We were reluctant to take the cable car. The departure site is at around 2500m and the top is well above 3000m. Anyway we put lot of effort to get there so we decided to try our chance. At around 2700m the cloud started to disappear and there was perfect blue sky at the top.
